A season's worth of hard work and tight racing in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge ends with victory for Indianapolis based Burton Racing. Both team and driver championships were clinched in a hard fought final race at Connecticut's picturesque Lime Rock Park.
After having a potential win thwarted earlier in the year at Circuit of the Americas, Brendon Hartley and Scott Mayer finally broke through and took the checkered flag in the lead at Road America.
It was an exciting Brickyard Grand Prix for PDS customers, as Starworks Motorsport captured it's second victory at Indy in the Rolex Series race and Burton Racing was able to come away as winners in the Continental Sports Car Challenge race as well.
The second round of the NAEC produced an entertaining race, with a big rain shower that shook things up and resulted in one of the closest finishes in Rolex Series history. It was a surprise podium for the Starworks 8 car, after running 1-2 with the other Starworks 2 car before the rain. 8 Star continued to show their new-found pace and wound up with a second P2 in a row, and only 0.265 seconds back from winning it all.
Last weekends Diamond Cellar Classic at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course saw a double podium for PDS clients.
PDS is back supporting Starworks Motorsports again this year, and produced a fantastic finish in Austin. The team overcame damage early in the race and fought back to the podium and challenging for the win. We are also working with Grand-Am newcomer 8Star Motorsports who scored their first top-5 finish.
A grueling year supporting Starworks Motorsport in Grand-Am and the FIA World Endurance Championship is rewarded with an honor from SpeedTV.com. The year was filled with many long nights, long flights and early mornings, but in the end we are proud of what we achieved.
