About PDS

DSCN3140Performance Data Solutions (PDS) was founded in 2009 by Engineer Lee Szczypski to answer the data acquisition needs of professional race teams.

In the short time that PDS has existed, the customer list has been extensive; including teams in INDYCAR, United SportsCar Championship (formerly the American Le Mans and GRAND-AM Series), Star Mazda, the FIA World Endurance Championship and even America’s Cup competition.

Current and past clients of PDS include championship-winning teams such as Starworks Motorsport, Muscle Milk Pickett Racing and Level 5 Motorsports to name a few. The company also has hands-on experience with different racecars ranging from highly technological LM P1 prototypes like the Aston Martin P1 car to open-wheel cars, Daytona Prototypes, GT cars and others.

One of the main objectives of PDS is to offer high quality, professionally built, custom harnesses in a timely manner and at a reasonable rate. Additionally, careful planning along with proper drawings and pinout diagrams give the team all the information required for their project. And, once the project is done, we’ll still be there for customer support if needed.

Customer service is a top priority at Performance Data Solutions, and you can be assured that all inquiries will be responded to promptly. We know and understand the timeframe demands in racing and work to accommodate tight schedules without sacrificing quality and attention to detail, two key elements in the world of racing.

Performance Data Solutions is also your source in Indianapolis for all Motec products and support. Please contact us for a prompt response.

After studying in Aerospace Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University nearly 15 years ago, Lee Szcypski focused on the Data Acquisitions side of race engineering.

Prior to founding Performance Data Solutions in 2009, Szczypski put together a successful career gaining most of his experience in the open-wheel world, working in the Atlantic Series, Indy Lights, Champ Car and IndyCar.

During this period, he worked for teams such as Hemelgarn – Johnson Motorsports, Playa Del Racing, Walker Racing and Luczo Dragon Racing, the only team to integrate the MoTeC data system in an Indy car at the time. It included custom steering wheel display, GPS and integrated video, powered weight jacker as well a ‘pretty trick’ light weight harness for the car.

Armed with his knowledge and experience, Szczypski saw an opportunity for growth with an increasing need for data acquisition solutions and decided to start his own company in 2009.

While he turned his attention to the sports car world, he also worked on a very special project in his startup year, that of building all wiring harnesses for BMW Oracle Racing, winner of the 33rd America’s Cup.

With that accomplishment in the books, the successful foundation of Performance Data Solutions was set.
